Indiana Fever Signs Odyssey Sims as Caitlin Clark is Listed as QUESTIONABLE Despite No Practice!

The Indiana Fever have signed veteran guard Odyssey Sims as Caitlin Clark is suddenly listed as QUESTIONABLE despite not practicing at all. This shocking move has fans speculating that the Fever front office might be running scared and nervous, knowing Clark must play if they want any chance at making the playoffs. Even more puzzling, the team appears to be reversing course from the originally expected August 22nd return date. If she hasn’t practiced, how could she possibly be in game shape? The situation raises major concerns about both Clark’s health and the Fever’s playoff hopes.

Foreign Fever has made a move, and that is to sign Odyssey Sims, the vet guard who last played this past this season actually with the Los Angeles Sparks, before being waived the beginning of July of this season. Sims has been signed to a hardship contract and it's likely, based on the what's happening, that she'll be on this team for the rest of the year, even when Caitlin Clark comes back.
That's from what I've read, from what I've heard, but if that's incorrect, please forgive me, because that means that what I'm reading is incorrect as well. But the Fever have signed Odyssey Sims. We did talk about this on Friday when it was determined that Sydney Coulson and McDonald would be out for the season with an ACL tear and a broken foot.

And we were speculating as to who would be a player they could bring in. And Odyssey Sims name did come up and I thought that was a good fit, actually. It's a quick, quick point, quick guard, quick point guard, combo guard, undersized as a combo guard because he's only five, eight. But that's not out of the norm for the Indiana Fever to have a bunch of small guards. You know, Kelsey Mitchell's five eight, Aaron McDonald's five six, City Coulson's about five eight. So we got another five eight guard here and this should hopefully help this team.

Odyssey Sims has a good. Has had a good career, and we're going to talk about this thing. Welcome back, everyone, to another edition of Rudy's Rant Her Game, Her Way. Women's basketball. We talk facts for feelings. I'm your host, Rudy Rodriguez Chaumont. Like the video, subscribe the channel, ring the bell, leave a comment, let me know your thoughts. Apologize for my voice. I'm getting a little horse.

Entering the cold, unfortunately, kind of sucks, but it is what it is. Odyssey Sims was averaging 9.8 points per game, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 29.5 minutes of play for the LA Sparks this season. She played in 12 games, started 11 in fact. LA Sparks fans were largely shocked when she was waived, thinking that other players should have been waved over her instead of her, including Julie Alamand.

And yeah, that was one that they thought should have been waived because, you know. Yeah, just reading this thing right here. Alaman has been less productive than Sims was this season. People were highly upset. I thought Alaman was playing for Golden State. Am I crazy or was it Van Lou? I've lost track. I apologize.
Yeah, Alamon played in the Euro cup or what have you. And they kept her over Odyssey Sims and the comments were crazy. Odyssey Sims was playing really good and y' all got rid of her. Shaking my head. Sim's been playing better than Saab, if we're being honest. Oh has scored way more than Julie, if we're keeping it a buck. What the hell y' all doing? Yeah, so Sparks fans weren't happy about this decision.

The general manager cannot put together a good roster to save her life. Yeah, that's the situation when she got let go by the Sparks. Obviously is a good situation for the Fever to be able to pick her up. Some of the names that had been proposed in the live on Friday were completely off because they're on teams. I I was really not understanding how people could suggest players that are on other teams.

But Odyssey Sims I think is a fit. She's a vet. She should be able to slide in similarly to how Aaron McDonald slid in with no problems. She was with the Dallas Wings last year. She played well over there. Moved over to the Sparks. She played well over there. I was actually kind of surprised to see her get cut. But nothing is shocking in the wnba as you know. In the meantime, I presume she'll be available tomorrow.

Not tomorrow, Tuesday against the Dallas Wings when they take the court next. And there has been a major change in the status of Caitlyn Clark with now the WNBA website stating that Caitlyn Clark is now questionable and a game time decision for the Dallas wings game on August 12th. Now this to me is shocking to say the least.

And the reason I say it's shocking is because if she was question if she's questionable for Tuesday, she arguably, arguably could have probably played Saturday against Chicago in that scrimmage. I mean, that's literally what it was. It was a glorified scrimmage. And if you're going to bring her back, it's not crazy to have brought her back in a game that is rather is a rather easy win for your team and give her some practice minutes because contrary to the report that Holly Row had given a few weeks back where she said the Fever are being very, very careful this time because for lack of better words, they completely blew it the first three times that Caitlin Clark was injured this season. Rushing her back, rushing her back, rushing her back again.

This time they had seen, based on Hollywood's report, which did not come out of thin air, Holly Royal is a reputable reporter. She did not just make up that the end of August was what they were looking at. And that was more like August 22, because they wanted to have Caitlyn Clark practice. They wanted Clark to be in. In shape.
They wanted her to be ready to play basketball, not have to deal with doing the, the load. Almost like load management, you know, restrictions on minutes and stuff like that. They wanted her to be ready to play ball. And instead, now it seems like they're reversing course once again. Once again. I know other people said the 12th, but Holly Rowe, who's a reputable reporter, who I'll take there, I'll take Holly Rose word for it over anybody, any podcaster there is, I'll take her word for it over my word because my word is based off of her word. And she's a lot closer to this than anybody else.

She didn't just make this up. And everything that has been said about getting Caitlin Clark practice time is literally being ignored. If you want to actually look at the schedule from the time they got back from the All Star break on July 22, Caitlin Clark obviously couldn't practice on the 21st 20th. She had just had the injury just less than a week before that. They played on the 22nd on the road.

You think they practiced on the 23rd? No. You want to know why? I know they didn't, Price? Because Stephanie White told us they hadn't practiced Stephanie White told us that they hadn't practiced for like two weeks as of July, like, like somewhere, like, what was it? So it was. They got hurt. She got hurt the 15th, as of, like, July 30th, they hadn't practiced because they played the 22nd, the 24th. Then they went on the road for the 27th, back home for the 30th, back on the road for the 1st, on the road for the 3rd, on the road for the 5th, on the road for the 7th. So a lot of these days are travel days or rehab days.

Get your stuff back together again. No real hard practice, nothing that's gonna grind you. Maybe if they got one or two practices somewhere in that mix, maybe the 25th after the Vegas game or the 20, you know, maybe the 25th or 26th after the Vegas game or, you know, maybe the 28th or 29th before the Phoenix game. But it's largely been told to us that they don't practice, that they don't, they don't, they don't have time.

This schedule is too tight. They're too tired. So if you're not practicing, how the hell is Caitlin Clark now magically going to be available potentially for a game on Tuesday when they Played yesterday. Yesterday being Saturday as I record this video today, Sunday. So let's say that you think they practiced today on a Sunday. I highly doubt it. Maybe they'll get in practice tomorrow. I'm sure. I would presume that they will. They're at home. But you're telling me now that you are going to have her play with one practice session in the past 10 days, 14 days. Doesn't make a lot of sense. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me at all.

Holly Rowe had suggested the 22nd because I'm sure it was based on what she was told by people within the organization because they, they play. The Fever plays Minnesota on August 22nd at home. The game before that is on the 17th on the road in Connecticut. So you'd have the 18th, the 19th, the 20th and the 21st. You had the opportunity to have four real practices back to back to back to back to get a real good idea to see if Caitlyn Clark's groin really is good. On top of that, because you'll need to see if she's sore the next day or the day after. On top of that, you're able to get her into a conditioning mode, basketball mode.

You can't get in shape. Shooting jump shots, you can't get in shape. Having individual drills, that's not going to get you in shape. Is she running suicide sprints? I mean, basketball shape is not practice, not like individual workout shape. So they haven't had practices or very many, if any. How is she going to be in shape to run 40 minutes? Yeah, let me know this. I mean, maybe. Am I crazy? What are y' all thinking? Leave a comment in the chat on this one because I'd love to hear what you have to say about this because this is not logical.

Holly Row is, has been around for a very, very long time and I completely believe everything she said and it made sense. So now coming off of a 30, a 22 point win over Chicago, you got Dallas at home, a game you should win. Then you got Washington at home, a game you should win. Then you have Connecticut on the road, a game you should win. You don't need Caitlin Clark to win these games, especially not after you signed a replacement point guard to step in. It doesn't make sense.

I'd rather have Caitlin Clark full bore to play Minnesota on the 22nd and the 24th, and then Seattle, Louisiana, Golden State, Phoenix. And you know, because that is where Caitlyn Clark is going to be desperately needed is these games she'll be desperately Needed against these teams that needed against Dallas, Washington and Connecticut. Not with two of those three at home and Connecticut being the road game. I mean we've all seen this team blow games but you know, realistically they should be good enough to beat those teams. They're better than those teams.

So is Indiana now reversing course because they're nervous? Is their front office now freaking out because of the injuries? What's happening here? What are they doing? What are they doing? The fact that she was moved the game time decision on the WNBA site now on espn it still lists her as out apparently. Let me check, let me, let me double check because that was earlier today. So for Tuesday, see yeah they still have her listed as out so they haven't changed it. Now again this she may not play but the fact that the WNBA website lives her as game time decision questionable as of today. I hope she doesn't play Tuesday. I really don't. I you, you don't need her to play Tuesday.

If they can't beat this team without her, there's bigger problems. If they can't beat this team at home without her, there's bigger problems. And if they rush her back and then somehow now she gets hurt three games later, well then she's gone for this season. Then it's over. It's over. It's better to earn the side of caution. And I've said it all year, I was actually surprised that they didn't rush her back to play Saturday. Was surprised.

And for that I give them credit for not doing it. But now it seems like all of a sudden now we may see her playing three days later. Realistically, this team is going to make the playoffs. It would be shocking if they didn't. They're 18 and 14. They're you know, they're two games above the eight seed. And I, I would have a hard time buying believing this team won't make the playoffs. But I hope they're not rushing Caitlin Clark back because they're nervous because if that's what they're doing then they're also showing a lack of belief in the team that they got. So y' all let me know y' all thoughts in the comments.

What do you think of this change in report that now she's listed as game time decision? Do you buy it? Would you think that they're the Fever organization is getting nervous? What are your thoughts of the Odyssey Sims acquisition? But yeah, always something in the world of the wnba. Let me leave a comment like the video subscribe to the channel and of course we will see you Tuesday night post game, after the game against Dallas. I hope my throat feels better, God, because my throat's feeling like raw right now. It kind of sucks, which is why I'm swallowing a whole lot.

So I apologize. Nonetheless, leave a comment like the video subscribe the channel Ring that bell. This is Rudy's rant. Her game, her way wins basketball. Come on now.
