How to use DictaLens?
Open AI Analysis
- From the left-side navigation menu, click AI Analysis
- Select the date range for the files you want to analyze
- Click Search to display uploaded files
- Select one or more files
- Click Analyze Files to open DictaLens
DictaLens Interface Overview
The DictaLens workspace is divided into three main sections.
Right Panel – Idea Palette
The Idea Palette contains predefined prompts organized by category. These prompts are designed to extract common insights quickly and consistently.
Available categories:

- Business & Project Management
- Interviews & Market Research
- Social Media & Marketing
When multiple files are selected, prompts automatically adjust to provide cross-file analysis.
Middle Panel - Ask Anything (Custom Prompt Box)
The Ask Anything panel allows you to interact directly with DictaLens using custom queries.
You can switch between:
- Express Mode - For quick summaries or direct answers
- Advanced Mode - For deeper AI data analytics and more detailed responses
Type your question or instruction and click Send to generate results.
Bottom Left - AI Memory
AI Memory displays your usage details:
- Used Memory - Processing already consumed
- Remaining Memory - Available processing left in your plan
- Upgrade Alerts - Notifications when usage is nearing plan limits

- Click a prompt category (for example, Universal)
- Select a prompt (for example, Grammar Correction)
- The prompt appears in the Ask Anything box
- Click Send to run the analysis
You can repeat this process to try different prompts or categories on the same content.
Writing Custom Prompts
You are not limited to preset prompts. DictaLens supports free-form queries for advanced transcription analysis.
Custom prompts allow you to:
- Extract specific information
- Reformat content
- Identify insights unique to your use case
- Generate structured outputs from conversations
DictaLens responds using only the content of your uploaded files as reference.
Using DictaLens With Project files along with your Transcripts
DictaLens also supports PDF document analysis.
Steps for PDF Analysis
- In the DictaAI dashboard, click Add Data Sources
- Upload PDFs (up to 350 pages)
- Click Continue to AI Analysis
- Use all DictaLens features, including summaries, sentiment analysis, and custom prompts
